Hello everyone! Welcome back if you've been following along for this 10-week series, and if you're new here, thanks for stopping by!

This week I will be covering certain points that truly level up your gym experience.

First thing on the list: form!

Form is incredibly important in lifting for many different reasons. The first is that form keeps you safe. When you lift with poor form, you are already putting your body at risk for unnecessary injury.

For example, when doing barbell RDLs, if you don't tighten your core during the movement, you are much more likely to strain or injure your lower back.

Secondly, form ensures that you are targeting the correct muscle group(s) with each exercise. This means that you can easily track your workouts and create a beneficial lift with exercises that work for you.

One example of this is when barbell back squatting; if you want to target your quads, then you keep your legs closer to shoulder-width apart. If you wanted to target your hamstrings and glutes, then you would place your feet further apart with your toes turned slightly outward.

Second on the list is time in a rep.

Similar to form, this is crucial to keeping your body injury-free and to seeing gains from the gym. It is important to not rush through reps. Instead, usually slower is better. This is also a great time to focus on mind-to-muscle connection in movements.

Third would have to be proper recovery and food.

By this point, we should all be aware that your body needs help to make and maintain progress. This includes proper food and recovery.

Finding food that works well for your body and goals is necessary. It allows you to have good energy, gives your muscles the necessary components to grow, and is fuel for your mind and body. Understanding that this will change as you progress is also important.

As for recovery, the best thing you can do for your body is sleep! The body uses this time for muscle fiber building, decreasing inflammation, replenishing energy, etc.

So, as you move forward in your gym journey, remember these three steps for best results:

1) Form

2) Rep Time

3) Recovery & Food

I hope this series has helped you build a foundation for your time in the gym and your desired results. With continued time, routine, and perseverance, you can achieve your fitness goals!

Thank you for all the support!
